Some fans are turning to the music of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros for a little relief during the novel COVID-19 pandemic and delivering an important message to #stayhome in the process.

Christian Carlucci and Kelsi Cole put their own spin on ESMZ’s hit song Home. In their COVID-19 themed parody song, they replace ESMZ’s chorus with: “Go home, and please stay home. Home is the safest place for you. Go home. Just work from home. The whole world is counting on you, too.”

Carlucci says the video is a “friendly PSA from a frontline family and emergency doc.”

“We are all in this together,” Carlucci says. “We will come out on the other side of this crisis, together. Take care of yourselves and others.”

Jacob and Hannah, AKA Jacob Sharpe and the Magnetic Hannahs, released their parody song of Home in late March. Their version of Home is guaranteed to make you laugh, starting with the lyrics: “Netflix, Hulu, HBO. Maybe we’ll start Game of Thrones. Lots of things to watch and to do.”

Christian Sondermann posted a rendition of Home in May that featured a total of 49 singers from six of his choirs in Germany. Sondermann, who also plays guitar on the track, said ESMZ’s lyrics “hits the nail on the head.”

“Home is whenever I’m with you,” Sondermann says. “No matter whether we’re on the sofa at home or in our thoughts together … together we can get through everything!”
