One year ago today, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros kicked off their magical 4-day Big Top festival in downtown Los Angeles. In celebration of the first anniversary of Big Top, we’d like to share our six-part video with with Joe McCord (aka Joe Daddy, the Gypsy Fortunate Teller), the father of ESMZ percussionist Orpheo McCord.

He opened up about fatherhood, his friendships with Jimi Hendrix, Jerry Garcia and Janis Joplin, and the new short film he wrote called “The Butterfly, The Harp & The Timepiece,” which features ESMZ members Alex Ebert, Stewart Cole and Orpheo.
