Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros today announced the premier of their newest music video, “No Love Like Yours.” The video was directed by actress-turned-director Olivia Wilde.
The video was shot entirely on an iPhone 6S Plus and edited using an app called Filmic Pro.
“I am good friends with Bryan [Ling], the band’s manager,” Wilde told Rolling Stone magazine. “Many, many years ago — I think it was 2003 around Halloween — I was in the Lower East Side, and I walked into a bar, and Bryan said, ‘You’re going to meet one of the greatest, most creative people.’ We walked in, and Alex (Ebert) was standing on the bar.”
The video – which depicts frontman Alex Ebert discovering his own funeral – premiered Wednesday night at a pop-up art gallery in Los Angeles.
“I’ll tell you, man, I felt vulnerable as hell doing this video,” Ebert told Rolling Stone. “And that’s why I knew it was good — that’s why I was attracted to it. Every time I had that fear, I knew we were doing something right.”
