Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros will release their fourth studio album “PersonA” on April 15. In anticipation of the album release, the band is giving Sharpies a sneak peek of what’s to come. Every week, ESMZ will release a small video clip created by each band member that includes a preview of a new song from the album.

The first preview: Let It Down.

From bassist Seth Ford-Young:

“A sound, a place, a feeling otherworldly and yet familiar. Embracing the dusky beauty and then dancing in the light that erupts from that embrace. That is what I experience now when I listen to this piece. Here, perhaps, polyrhythm is the door to this place between worlds where tempus perfectum (the trinity) meets tempus imperfectum (the broken circle). The union of perceived opposites is the heart of so many inspirations; this place, these people, this music. Like many before us we are drawn here where the veil is very thin. We breathe it in and it becomes part of us. Then we find there is something even beyond this….a place where rhythms can change, bend, and rejoin in a seamless dance. 6+2+2, 6+2, 6….there can be a comfort in the discomfort of change. Finally there is that eruption of light and something that could be described as unbridled joy at the honest beauty or the death throes of the ego. We join with it, rage against it, dance a mad ballet with it, and in the end we are one.”
