In honor of Janglin Souls’ 1-year anniversary, Independence Day and what would have been the 24th birthday of musician and friend of ESMZ Ryder Buck, we are proud to present our video of “If I Were Free.” This video features Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros performing “If I Were Free” from three separate live performances: Loufest (St. Louis, 9-8-13), Big Top (L.A., 10-20-13) and 9th Street Summerfest (Columbia, Mo., 6-4-14). The video was produced and edited by David Wexler, editor/publisher of Janglin Souls. We thank you kindly for all your love and support!

  1. It’s been a while since I’ve had a real cry. It’s not all sadness, either… I am so deeply touched that my beautiful boy is so loved, has reached into the world with all the love God, (the Universe, Mother Nature, Allah, Yahweh- he’d name them all), AND Mommy poured into him. He lived it. And people felt it- You, who were so important to him, his spiritual sustenance, from afar, were able to experience it.
I’m honored beyond words. Thank you, David, thank you, each individual of ESMZ. Those I met at UCLA were so tender, so kind. You lift me up… Continue to lift me up.
“Thank you, just thank you-” to quote my dear Ryder.
